Cancellation Policy
Cancellation by Group Leader
The $500 deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances.
All other payments are also non-refundable and non-transferable, regardless of the cause, including but not limited to:
- Travel disruptions or delays
- Weather-related incidents or natural disasters
- Pandemic-related restrictions
- War, political unrest, illness, or personal emergencies
Note: This policy applies to the group as a whole. Individual cancellations are the retreat leader’s responsibility.
Cancellation by Bambu Guest House
In the unlikely event Bambu Guest House must cancel your retreat due to natural disasters, extreme weather, or political unrest, all payments—including the deposit—will be refunded in full.
Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that all travelers purchase comprehensive travel insurance that includes trip cancellation and interruption coverage to protect against unforeseen disruptions.
Credit Toward Future Retreats
In the event of a documented emergency affecting the group leader directly (e.g., serious illness, accident, or family bereavement), payments made (minus the $500 deposit) may be credited toward a future retreat within 12 months.
If a country-wide shutdown (Guatemala or the country of origin) prohibits travel for six consecutive months or more, the credit window will be extended by the same duration, plus 12 months.
Note: This credit applies only to the group leader. The leader may choose to extend credit to individual participants at their discretion.
Damages and Liability
The group leader is financially responsible for any damage to the facilities, rooms, furniture, or equipment caused by themselves or any of their guests during the retreat.
All damages will be assessed by Bambu Guest House, and the cost of repairs or replacements must be paid in full prior to check-out. Failure to settle damage-related charges may result in additional fees or legal action.
By making a reservation at Bambu Guest House, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
