Somos means “we are” in Spanish. It’s a declaration of connection to the people we meet, the places we serve, and the shared humanity that makes travel transformative.

Somos Impact Travel was born from a simple but powerful belief: travel should do more than take you somewhere. It should bring you closer to people, purpose, and the possibility of a better world.

The story began when Somos co-founders Shad Qudsi and Kyle Weinstein were working side by side on a grassroots nonprofit in Guatemala. As they partnered with local changemakers, they noticed a painful gap. Community-led organizations were creating lasting impact but struggling for resources and visibility. Meanwhile, tourism in the region boomed and most travelers passed through without ever engaging with the local efforts shaping the places they visited.

That disconnect sparked a vision. Somos Impact Travel was created to close the gap. Somos designs immersive experiences across Latin America connecting students, families, educators, and companies with the grassroots leaders and movements making a difference on the ground. Every itinerary is built around three pillars: community impact, human connection, and regenerative adventure.
